I would appreciate keeping the affiliate links to a minimum, as I told the commenter just before you. If you feel you must post the link, that's fine, but please then make the rest of the comment at least useful, informative, or directly related to the article content in the future.

Thank you! :)

A handy tip for signing up to DropBox… If you want some extra storage from the start
use my referral link to sign up

http://goo.gl/StEow

Both Dropbox users ( you and I) get an extra 250MB on top of the free 2GB.

Once Joined you can then refer others and receive an extra 250MB per referral up to a max of 8Gig… Free.

@223074417ff1850108a1856b2aaec0fc:disqus : I would appreciate if you could keep the affiliate links to a mimumim--at least make your comments more relevant if you do still feel the need to post affiliate links. It's not that your comment isn't at all relevant, but that I feel the reason it was posted is to provide your links, rather than provide useful content for other people.

I’ve been using SugarSync and sugarsync for about a year now and I’m really satisfied. Very little system load compared to other similar products I’ve tried and has never once crashed.

If you sign up via my referral link below we both get an extra 500 MB if you sign up for a free account or 10 GB if you sign up for a 30 GB account or larger:

or dropbox

While your comments are appreciated, continued advertising in them will result in them being marked as Spam.

To the first half of your comment at least, I am torn: While I much prefer the flexibility and features of SugarSync, the problems it's caused me has made me lean toward the simplicity and reliability of Dropbox.

None-the-less, I am quite happy now with SpiderOak.

I definitely prefer Sugarsync to Dropbox, way more features and 5GB free as standard rather than 2Gb

Get an extra 500MB here at the link below, so you will have 5.5GB to start with. I also get 500MB if you signup using this link, thanks in advance!

Sugarsync has recently upgraded their free accounts to include 5.5.GB of free and secure online storage, not bad at all!: https://www.sugarsync.com/referral?rf=ejjfpyq3n6nmz

SugarSync: This service the potential to be a nice alternative to Dropbox. For starters, its free model gives you 5 GB versus Dropbox's 2 GB. For $99 you can get 60 GB of storage while Dropbox only gives you 50 GB for the same amount. ...

That is my understanding of their development methodology as well.

I believe that may be part of the issue with SugarSync as I have found out--I praised their fast-moving development cycle, but that can also introduce bugs and unexpected behavior and interactions that were not planned for. If they are not found and fixed immediately they can be very hard to track down later on (especially if the code happens to be poorly documented).

Even though it's less exciting, Dropbox seems to be a service that people can rely on, and that scores it huge points.

Glad to hear it. I'll try to remember to check back when they release the
features.

They're probably following the principle of not releasing anything
half-baked, like Apple does.
