I then created a new sub-folder on the laptop (Win XP). I didn't intend sharing this folder from my laptop to PC, but did so by error as I was trying to get SugarSync setup. When I realised my error, I tried un-syncing the folder. SugarSync says it is not synced on both the laptop and PC, but the PC still shows the SugarSync circle on the folder icon. I then went to the on-line repository, and deleted the sub-folder and the top-level folder. SugarSync deleted the first sub-folder on the PC, and continues to delete it even if I do New > Folder, it is immediately deleted by SugarSync. Any clues, anyone?

I have been running the 30day free trial for about a week, BUT today I found a problem that if not fixed by SharpCast will cause me to stop the trial.

I manually created a folder on my laptop that existed on my PC (Win 7). The only problem I've experienced with this is that they've made it a bit difficult to open without damaging the plastic casing around it--I eventually pried it apart, but the adapter looks a bit rugged now :)

Good luck!

You are absolutely correct–the capacitor in question is located inside the power supply, and it should be pretty straight-forward once you're in. First one started to reboot, then in two weeks, second. Thanks for the tip. The capacitor is located in the power supply unit. Right? Not on the system board of the router.

I've experienced the same with two such routers during 3 weeks. So for the same money ($50), I got 100 Gb of storage at SpiderOak, instead of SugarSync's 30 Gb.

Still, extra storage issue aside, it's too bad that SugarSync can't deliver what it promises. I really liked all the features that SugarSync was supposedly offering, and wouldn't go looking for anything else -- IF IT WORKED. But I don't have another week to waste on a service that may or may not work, and has nobody who could respond to customers.

OTOH, I started SpiderOak service 4 days ago, and so far everything is working quite well.

Plus, as a graduate student, you get 50% discount from SpiderOak. The customer support guy available through chat couldn't help and made me submit a ticket. I did, and got an autoreply that they will get back to me within 24 hours. They didn't Sent another message 4 days later - still no response. Canceled the service.

I signed up for SugarSync and spent a week trying to make it work – it doesn't. I like SpiderOak's simplicity, openness and encryption security better, but I've also found the Windows client to be buggy. Plus, SugarSync just seems more polished and complete. Are you still using SpiderOak? Have your SugarSync issues been resolved? I'd really appreciate an update (not that you owe me, a random dude on the Internet, anything - but help a brother out?) I'm doing a review of SugarSync and would like to share experiences and find out how your issues got resolved.
