I'm under the impression that it'll sync PST and things like accounting files after they are unlocked (when the program using them is closed).

I completely agree regarding it not telling you the things it didn't back up, and just having a lot of missing files (or replaced files which return to the original) and other sync issues.

I love the idea behind SugarSync, and the way in which it works in theory--it just doesn't do an adequate job of ensuring data consistency in all cases.

After several years of testing, I can safely say that I have found nothing which syncs half as well as Dropbox, even though its feature set is more limited than most other services. It's caused me to gladly shell out the extra cash required for adequate Dropbox space, because it's the only thing I've found that works quickly, and has never caused me any data consistency issues.

Unfortunately there are a number of problems, it wont sync pst files or accounting files (MYOB, Quickbooks). It also doesn't tell you what it didn't backup, I suggest you start checking your web account as there may be other folders totally missing as well.

Great to hear! The WL-500g really is a special router. Powerful WiFi, enough internal memory for OpenWRT to run comfortably, built-in USB ports, etc. It's still a much better router than most current offerings so many years later.

Thanks a lot!

I was just going to throw my 6 years old Asus WL-500g out of the window, since the "Troubleshooting" section of the instruction manual does not cover this issue (steady light of all indicators EXCEPT power and air).
Since I am no tech geek, I bought a new power supply 15 menutes ago and it works again.
Unfortunately, these come expensive here in Czech Republic, so it cost me about 1/2 of the price of the cheapest WLAN router.
But still - this is a much niftier machine and I do not like to litter by throwing away what is good to use for another decade.

I would appreciate keeping the affiliate links to a minimum, as I told the commenter just before you. If you feel you must post the link, that's fine, but please then make the rest of the comment at least useful, informative, or directly related to the article content in the future.

Thank you! :)

A handy tip for signing up to DropBox… If you want some extra storage from the start
use my referral link to sign up

http://goo.gl/StEow

Both Dropbox users ( you and I) get an extra 250MB on top of the free 2GB.

Once Joined you can then refer others and receive an extra 250MB per referral up to a max of 8Gig… Free.

Hello

I saw your post at http://andrewsheppard.wordpress.com/2010/10/23/a-real-time-data-rtd-server-written-in-c/ and tried to find an email to you. I have a third party RTD server provider that I'm trying to access via C# and have the same problems that you faced (getting null returns). Did you solve the problem? Would you mind sharing the solution?

Thanks for the suggestion on the Enercell. I've had problems trying to find the right one for this router and been burned twice. For anyone who finds this post, the router uses positive polarity. Took me forever to find that answer.

I got an entire folder that just "vanish" from my laptop. The web interface shows the folder, but no way to get it back. I have reset the configuration and try to download everything again, no lucky yet. But I HAVE A BACKUP, actually, I keep at least 2 backups, just in case. My conclusion: NOT READY FOR CRITICAL MISSION WORK.
